Hi Glenn. Thanks for sharing some information about Kiki with us :). Whether to breed from a dog is always a big decision – Pippa has written an article on this here, which I think you might find helpful. 🙂

I may have an anomality to your description of a labradoodle. We have a 3.5 year old female about 65lbs and Not overweight. Genetics say she’s 50% poodle, 35% retriever and 15% golden. We’re unaware of her parents lineage; we got her because original owners thought she would be good for an austic child…didn’t work for them. Just as well, a Toy dog may have been more appropriate.
“Kiki” we got as a pup, maybe 5-6 months old.
I’m 65 and I can honestly say I have never owned a dog like her! She looks like a retriever (golden colour short coat and sheds). Loves to hunt (nose to the ground) and swim (doesn’t like hot days). On a walk with a leed she’s like a standard poodle; high stepping and very jumpy, she is very protective of grandkids. Off the leed she’s very aware of me and my whereabouts but scents and trails are paramount.
Of course this doesn’t fully describe her or her individuality but do you have any thoughts on breeding her? She is Very high strung (poodle strung) and now just starting to look at males when in heat. I’m thinking a golden but interested in your thoughts….Thxs

Hi Ron, glad you find the info helpful. I’m afraid I can’t recommend specific breeders, but this article gives you some tips on where to start. Good luck with your search 🙂

Do you know of any breeders that we could contact?
I hunt with her so a well bred lab is obviously preferred. Thanks for all the good info and effort
