In reply to Bruce Carlin. Hi Bruce, sorry to hear your pup is struggling with itching. It sounds like another trip back to the vet would be a good next step for you. If your vet is unable to help, we suggest getting a second opinion. I do hope you're able to get some relief for Hayden. Sammie.

I took him to a vet, but he wouldn’t allow anyone to touch or hold him. I did hold him long enough to allow vet to administer an injection for inner bacteria and other insects. I have since and before attacked any flea problems . Hayden has been itching all year. We self induced him in small amounts of pumpkin seeds, antioxidant, with food, flea collar, flea bathes once A month since he wears flea collar, all shots and heart worms are up to date. He gets bathe and immediately rolls in the grass. Go figure why bugs jump on him! Besides scratching he seems to be licking his private area way too much for my comfort. Please advice…feel sad for him.

Wow, it surprised me to read that there are a lot of potential explanations why a dog can be itchy and that this can be as serious as skin diseases. This makes me nervous about my pet dog since he was never a scratch-loving dog when I first adopted him, but has recently been very itchy and bothered. To find out what’s really going on here, I’ll look for any veterinary services in my area, just in case it’s as something serious as a skin disease.
