Last year she did manage to swallow a snake skin like it was a string of spaghetti that required a trip to the vets for a stomach pump šŸ˜… I still love ā¤ her to death!!]]> My 13 month old chocolate lab has been munching voraciously on the new spring grass. I was worried until I read the posts here. She never gets sick but I have observed the fragments of undigested grass in her šŸ’©. Last year she did manage to swallow a snake skin like it was a string of spaghetti that required a trip to the vets for a stomach pump šŸ˜… I still love ā¤ļø her to death!!

She vomits or poops it out in strings. Worse still is when it seems to get caught in between and cause discomfort in her gut, lots of vomiting and pain until it’s passed and a big vet bill for anti sickness and pain relief. Drives us crazy, we wish she’d stop with her ā€˜salad’ intake!

I don’t even have a dog. My child, however, chomps down on the stuff like a hungry goat every time we let her out of her pen. Anyone else got a child that won’t stop eating grass? I’m not sure why she does this. We’ve tried moving her on from her biscuit diet onto meats (mainly chorizo) but she still exhibits this behavior whenever we take off her shackles.

Nope regardless of the content this article has still made way for the chance for people to post their experiences with dogs eating grass , without this they’d be no comments to post… So the most important thing about this article are those people below it posting their experiences with said issue…,

So by far a waste of time if one is to read other people’s comments in response to it…

I let him mow the lawn now. Does a pretty good job.

She grazes. However she doesn’t always get sick. She eats sticks and grabs rocks too. I thought it might be her diet.

People have told me this is normal and is nothing to worry about, but she always vomits up yellow bile shortly after eating the grass. Surely this can’t be normal ?

She and all her offspring really graze. In fact every dog I’ve cared for from the school eats grass. It doesn’t seem to hurt them. They just chomp away. The vets at the school aren’t concerned so I’m not either. I just make sure there are no harmful chemicals on the lawn.

The worse the arthritis has got over the past 6 months the greater her consumption of grass. Is there any research that links it to pain relief?
