My partner was a British Paratrooper and our dog is called Hercules after the planes they jumped from or Herc for short

My dad was a Marine for 25 years, and so when we got my childhood dog when I was 6 we named him Chesty, after Chesty Puller. Sadly, he passed away at the end of January at the ripe old age of 17. I loved him greatly.

Most appealing reason I’ll name my canine buddy a military inclined name is to honor the souls of selfless departed hero(s).
Of recent, a K9 dog was named in honor of a falled hero some years back.
