I so grateful for all the information & comments , trying to get my lab friend but not found him or her yet. Trying to rescue rather then buy. So many on rescue sites that don’t resemble the English cream that Im trying desperately to rescue. Thanks everyone for great information. Be thankful. Mine was the same way until about a year old, then would bark – more like a woof – when someone came to the door. She doesn’t bark a whole lot, like some other dogs in my neighborhood, but she will alert me at the appropriate times – and occasionally, not so appropriate – then I have to show her that there is no one there sometimes.

We are lucky enough to have wooden floors downstairs, so you can see the ‘clouds’ of hair and suck them up. But on the stairs, although the labs don’t go up them, I tested a rubber curry comb from my horses tack box! I was soooo impressed with the results, I bought a new one especially for the job, and although it’s a hands and knees job, you’d be amazed at the amount that that comes out lol. Fabulous site, and always a source of advice ????

For the hair that sticks to my dog’s bed I take the cover off, wash in my machine with vinegar, and tumble dry on low with a dryer sheet. I also throw in my rugs from the back door. No more hair!!
