Hi Dawn, your puppy may be getting over excited. Have a look at this article: https://www.thelabradorsite.com/excited-puppy/ I think you’ll find it helpful

We don’t play tug. She has normal puppy biting. My concern is she gets ‘ angry’ when told “no” or when we don’t allow her to continue chewing on something or someone. We redirect with toys etc. when she gets nasty we put her in kennel for a time out.
Any other tips?

We just brought home our 8 week old GSD pup and today she snapped at both me and my husband when we picked her up. She cried, bit towards our face and growled. I’m not sure what to do about that? Do we just not pick her up?

We have had him since 3 months and other than his teenage phase he has been fantastic but he is super agressive. Attacks my girlfriend and brother so we got him a trainer and that problem was fixed. A month later and he found a new issue he now gets aggressive towards my father who is with him all day long and he snaps at random moments with no trigger. 2 days ago he almost got his arm then jumped at his neck to bite. But immediately after he stopped and it was almost like he apologized to my father. My family is now giving him away please help

BUT if we touch her when she is busy doing something and she doesn’t like it, she growls and snaps at us – basically telling us to leave her alone. I believe this is not good, because we have to be able to handle her any time we want. Can you give me feed back on this please. Thanks

however she is consistently aggressive with strangers that visit the house – barking growling and rushing if she is not restrained (though treats and repeated contact will make her friendly with regular visitors). barking, lunging and growling at strangers while out on walks is a constant worry. again, repeated instructions of ‘no barking no pulling’ followed by praise of ‘good girl frisbee’ or the occasional treat usually works but it is obviously exhausting and i would like walks to be more stressfree and would like my Lab to be like most other Labs – friendly and playful with other dogs (her aggression with other dogs is even worse). Question: is she likely to outgrow this behavior? what am i doing right or wrong? what can i do to try and get her to lessen her aggression? where i live i don’t have access to clueful trainers or other professionals. any insight/experience would be very much appreciated.

We bought a Labradoodle/shepherd mix puppy in October. She’s 6 months old now and we’re having some issues. She is showing some aggression towards our 10 year old Aussie and our 7 yr old cat. When we first brought the puppy home the cat went after and scratched her, and ever since she barks aggressively at the cat. We keep them separated and it’s frustrating to always have to worry about making sure doors are closed etc.,. Tonight she went after the Aussie over a bone. I gave both dogs their own bone, so I’m not sure what caused the fight. I pulled her away from my Aussie and she never once growled at me. One time when a friend of mine stopped over I thought I heard Lily (puppy) growl, but I’m not sure if she did because both dogs were barking. I’ve had many dogs over the years, and I know some dogs can be aggressive over bones/toys. Lily is not a small puppy, and I don’t know if I’m just worrying over nothing. She did not injure my Aussie, but it was definitely aggression. I have a dog trainer coming over to assess her issue with the cat in the near future. I just don’t want to ignore a potential problem. Anyone else have this type of problem with an older puppy?

I have A 7 month pit bull she is deaf. I got her at 8 weeks and every time i visited her before bringing her home she was so mellow. It did not take her long before she showed her true colors. I also have a yorkie and Shitzu that are about 8 years old. Neither one of them like her but wont bother her they just ignore her. In the last week she has aggressively attacked both of them at different times. Both times I could not figure out what caused this to happen. I will not give up on her but I can not live with myself if she hurt one of them. Please Help!

Hi Monica,
I have a 7 month old mini poodle. He used to have those behaviors when he was 2 months and he stopped for a while, however at about 4 months he started again growling at us when he wants his own way: sometimes when I am giving him a brush, sometimes during this bath, and especially when I approach his playpen and try to touch in him while he is in there… since it happens in different scenarios I am not sure what is causing it, it just looks like when he wants his own way. Do you have any tips?

Thanks!
