The first morning we came down to find our black lab fast asleep in the wellington boot box! He was Boot from then on and a wonderful companion for nearly fifteen years. Miss him.

Got a 6-week old, black Shih-Poo, no where near the size of a black lab . We were having a hard time picking out her name. Borrowed a book of baby names from the library, picked out “Lexie” as her name. Turned out to be the perfect name for our girl! If you can’t select a lab name, maybe a baby name will be just what you’re looking for!

We named our black lab “Black Betty Bamalam”, Betty for short although she answers to may other silly names that somehow we made up along the way, like, Betty Bams, Betty bamalama ding dong, Berjams, the list goes on and on lol. Whatever we call her, she is showered with much love! She is the best dog. She is a woman’s dog, she loves my husband but only when there is a female around, if a female is not present she will not go near my husband and not because he has ever hurt her, it’s just been the way she has been since we got her at 4 months old. I am assuming that prior to us getting her that a man must have hurt her or like the vet said, some labs have a personality disorder like that, sometimes they outgrow it and other times they don’t. She is almost 2 years old now and she has not shown one sign of outgrowing it.

Our black Lab’s name was Rowdy and the other was Rocky, my parent black Lab’s name was Sabboth short for (Black Sabbath) the band. They were such Lovable, Loyal dogs.
