I have a 10 month old female Red Fox Lab. She has plenty of energy and has nearly finished her first season. She has got into two habits. First is eating my other dogs poo and the Second is jumping up and stealing food from the kitchen sides or jumping up at any surface and stealing something, I don’t know where I have going wrong my other dog is very well behaved.
Many Thannks Dionne

Hi Presley – that is trickier! Can you place your dog behind a baby gate while you’re out, so that you can reward calm by opening the gate, perhaps? And it might be helpful to review how long you’re out for, and whether you can provide more breaks or stimulation for him, so he’s less excited when you get back. Do pop and see us over at thelabradorforum.com if you’d like some more tips on adjusting his routine 🙂

what do you do if youre the only one living the household so when you come home your lab jumps on you and you dont have the chance to put the lead on? Same thing with the kennel. I try and have him wait until he is calm but as soon as i let him out he start jumping again. Very very excitable dog – he is over 2 years now i cant get the jumping under control. When i have guests come over he is on a lead but it still takes at least 10 minutes for him to really calm down.
thanks

They are good and helpful. I don’t have problems with jumping up unless some one visits. Sandy is the neighborhood greeter I think. Sandy just has to wiggle, bump and sometimes jump. Sandy is 105, 20 lb over weight

When kids come around and scream and jump around he also goes nuts and wants to jump and get to them. These little girls are so scared and start jumping up and down and screaming
